Very dark purple, lovely color. Fresh fruit, minerals, baby powder, brown sugar, white chocolate, chai, ripe cherry, lots of spice and some pretty musk. Dense and a bit tight and brooding. Mouth filling and textured, with a sweet core and lovely balance. Tannins are broad and forceful, yet fine. The wine is well-knit with much promise. Definitely benefits from decanting and a bit of time in the glass—when racy blueberry and trademark Spottswoode spice emerge.
