A gorgeous bottle design leads to an aroma of green apples and honey, quickly followed by deeply charred oak.
The product itself is a smooth 100-proof whiskey that drinks much higher. The smell of apples does not come through in the initial taste until the end. It is more highly charred than most whiskey I have tasted but is not off-putting. The char does linger a little longer than expected.
The finish is light and approachable, with honeycomb and vanilla notes. The whiskey is in no way harsh, with a lovely ending to a good whiskey. At two years old, I wonder if the spirit aged a little longer if the apple brandy flavoring would emerge.
